What is the opposite of cold? Hot, of course!  But what is the opposite of fragile? Is it strong? Unbreakable? Durable? Not at all! The opposite of fragile goes far beyond durability. It includes the ability to become stronger when attacked. Since there is no English word for the opposite of fragile, we’ve adopted the phrase “AntiFragile.” It’s a very real phenomenon in nature, and a Biblical provision for those who walk with The LORD.

Jesus said “In this world you will experience tribulation (attacks).” He certainly did! He was murdered on a cross and placed in a borrowed tomb. And we experience attacks too. But three days after His, Jesus put AntiFragile on display when he arose from the grave! He wasn’t showing off, but rather was showing us what He was capable of and wants to do in our lives as we experience attack.

April 16 - What You Meant For Evil - while attacks come to destroy us all, a relationship with God provides the opportunity for them to be transformed into tools for our strengthening, His glory and the good of others.

April 23 - Who Hit Me? - attacks create confusion, during which emotions can run so high that we often confuse our assailants with the one who is trying to save us.

April 30 - Scar-Away - scars from previous attacks are very real and often debilitating. Too often, they are seen as something permanent when Jesus died to transform them.

May 7 - Deflecting The Sucker Punch - one of God’s great gifts to us is the ability to see a punch as it is delivered with a proper perspective.  He also gives us wisdom to deflect it, minimize it’s impact and move on, safe and sound.

May 14 - Removing The Anti-AntiFragile - we live in a culture that thrives on comfortability, looks for the easy way out and demands safe spaces. Instead of helping us, this culture often makes us vulnerable to future attacks.

May 21 - Intentionally AntiFragile - while attacks can create the opportunity for the process of AntiFragile, we can actually work on becoming AntiFragile before they come, so that as they do, their impact is minimized.

JOIN THE FAMILY

We believe that it is God's intention for every follower of Jesus to be connected to a local church as a committed family member. Those who have established a relationship with Elevate Church and are part of a Connect Group are invited to attend our information class, "Our House, Your House" at The LOFT. This is the final step in calling Elevate Church "home." Our next class will take place SPRING 2017. Register below.
