Howdy!

We hope that you are all having a great week and have had a chance to enjoy some of the beautiful weather that has been hanging around the last few days.  Isn't it great!

It was so exciting to get to take part in Elevate's one year birthday celebration!  The sanctuary looked amazing and the food and fellowship were great!  Kid's Church was a lot of fun as well before we all took part in the birthday meal together.  Be sure to check out the Elevate Kids Facebook page for lots of pictures!

Ms. Austin and her team took advantage of the nice weather and got to spend a large part of the morning outside.  We began our morning with a great time of worship.  It was extra special this week, with two of the kids leading worship (BrookLynn directing and Moriah running the media).  We played two games; "The power of the Wills" where two kids were statues and tried not to laugh or smile when the other kids were trying to make them laugh (this demonstated them needing strength and power from God to help stand firm in their statue pose) and a second game where two kids (Julianne and River) tried to bob for gum in flour.

The lesson was about God helping us to live a clean life.  Ms. Austin taught out of Daniel 1:1-21, specifically about how Daniel used the strength of God and didn't get temped to eat the feast that the King offered and how he also stayed strong and actually looked better than the young men who ate the feast.

The memory verse is: Offer your bodies to Him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing - Romans 12:1

Toddler Room was also a lot of fun! We started a new lesson for the month of May and have been excited to see many of the young children having fun worshipping God with songs and also responding to our questions about God's creation.

Next week we'll be talking about how disobedience brings trouble. We're also planning a special craft for Mother's Day.
