Talent and Craft Day

Talent:Craft Day (2-1).jpg

Yesterday was the Red Zone's Talent and Craft Day! The children were excited to share their talent or hobby with the group, allowing us to know a little more about themselves. There was dancing, singing, skateboarding, bike riding, Lego building, drawing, and some pretty impressive gymnastics!

There were also three different craft stations set up for kids to rotate through - painting, play dough, and cross weaving. It was an exciting time!

Head over to our Facebook page to see a few other photos from our Talent and Craft Day.

Jasmine Visits eKIDS.

This past Sunday, the Red Zone kids learned about the Israelite nation and the bronze snake. One of our adult volunteers, Bob Bicknell, wanted to add a little spice to the morning and brought in Jasmine, his ball python. There was not one hesitation from the kids as to who would pet her first. A few were even brave enough to handle her. Thanks Mr. B for the memorable experience!

Check out our Facebook page to see more photos of our eKIDS students with Jasmine!

Happy Birthday, Elevate!

Elevate turned 2 this weekend, and eKIDS threw a birthday party to celebreate! Check out the eKIDS Facebok page for some behind-the-scenes pics.

Sports Talent Day

What a fun Sunday we had in the Red Zone!  The eKIDS came dressed in their favorite sports activity or team and brought some amazing talents to share with the class.  Some of the talents shared with the class were wrestling, singing, hopping, biking, and so much more.  Check out the eKIDS Facebook page for more pictures.

The Patch 2012

Elevate Church families joined together on October 14th at The Patch in Woodland, Washington to enjoy a great day of fall festivities.  The kids enjoyed the rope swing, watching cows, hay maze, pumpkin sling shot, and hay ride.  Also, Rachel Taft and Annie Jones did an incredible job making delicious desserts!  To check out all the photos, visit our eKIDS Facebook page.

Character Talent Day

What a fun Sunday we had this past week!  The eKIDS came dressed as their favorite character and brought some amazing talents to share with the class.  Characters ranged from classic superheroes and princesses to ninjas and pop singers.  Some of the talents shared with the class were whistling, singing, dancing, holding their breath, riding a scooter, and sharing a project.

Please check out all of the photos on our eKIDS facebook page.

Parents - Remember that every 5th Sunday of the month, there is a special talent day.

eKIDS 2012 Carnival

To close out the summer of 2012 in a big way, our eKIDS team put on an incredible carnival!  There were 15 stations of crazy fun for kids (and adults) of all ages ranging from the jungle themed bounce house to the photo booth with props.  After expending all kinds of energy, the kids went home with a bag full of prizes and of course...sugar.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a blast.  Please check out our eKIDS Facebook page for lots of pictures of the event.

Wacky Talent Day

The eKIDS students and volunteers showed off their special skills and abilities in silly fashion during our Wacky Talent Day!  From mismatched shoes to half-shaved heads to totally wild color schemes, there was certainly a variety of wackiness to keep things fun and interesting.  Some of the many amazing talents included breaking boards, drawing comics, tap dancing, singing, bending fingers, bending backs, skipping, running, hula hooping, and showing off special projects.  In addition to the talent show, the kids were able to enjoy a series of special craft activities including making necklaces, lava lamps, and crayon mosaic art.  Please check out all of the pictures posted on the eKIDS Facebook Page.

2012.06.20

This last Sunday, our Kid’s Church program presented their Father’s Day presentation and it was awesome! The kids have been working on this for the past month and we’re so proud of them! They sang “Rainbow” by Hillsong Kids and made a rainbow background with their handprints.

Moriah Williams was asked to share a verse to all the dads at Elevate and she chose Joshua 1:8-10 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” She chose these verses because dads know they need to be strong and show courage as they lead their family but might need a reminder to know where their strength and courage should come from.

In class, the kids came up with an acronym for FATHER with Mrs. Amy and they shared them with the church.

F: Fixes Everything

A: Always Loving

T: Taking me to shoot guns with him

H: Helps bring money home

E: Eats a lot

R: Reads the Bible to me

The kids returned to class and discussed how they loved presenting, talking in the mic, having people cheer for them and singing the song.  Mrs. Austin did a fantastic job giving the children a Father's Day lesson and provided the students an opportunity to make a mug for their Dad.

MEMORY VERSE: Listen, my sons to a father's instruction, pay attention and gain understanding. -Proverbs 4:1
