- SCRIPTURE:

Feb 13: Leviticus 20:24 & 26-"I am Yahweh your God who set you apart from the peoples"  "You are to be holy to Me because I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be Mine”

Feb 16: Leviticus 26:3-8 "If you follow My statutes and faithfully observe My commands, I will give you rain at the right time, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.  Your threshing will continue until grape harvest, and the grape harvest will continue until sowing time; you will have plenty of food to eat and live securely in your land.  I will give peace to the land and you will lie down with nothing to frighten you.  I will remove dangerous animals from the land, and no sword will pass through your land.  You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.  Five of you will pursue 100, and 100 of you will pursue 10,000; your enemies will fall before you by the sword"

- OBSERVATION:

Feb 13: There are several scriptures in Leviticus that repeat the phrase "I am Yahweh" and "you are set apart".  It is repeated so that we would understand that we are not of this world.  We are HIS, and special.

Feb 16: Those that choose to trust in the Lord and follow Him and His statutes can rest assured that all things will work together for their good.

- APPLICATION:

Feb 13: If we could get it through our heads and hearts how much God cares for us, it would dynamically impact our worldview as well as our behavior.  As I read those 2 scripture verses, I am comforted hugely:  God is Yahweh and I am HIS.  I am chosen, set apart.

Feb 16: Quite a bit of the book of Leviticus spells out things to do and things not to do; the "law". To be honest, I wasn't exactly excited about reading this portion of scripture, but as I have been reading through it with "new testament" eyes, I am seeing God's heart and intentions are all about caring for His people, and having them care for each other.  This 2nd scripture in Leviticus 26 describes a life of peace.  A life of fearlessness and boldness.  We have an enemy, that is clear.  We live in a dangerous world in a dangerous time.   But when you know who's we are (Yahweh's) and we faithfully follow Him, we are given incredible promises of success.  Both in security that our needs will be met by Him as well as victory over our enemies, no matter how daunting they may appear.  If 5 of us can destroy 100, and 100 can destroy 10,000, then we have power and might at our disposal that is divinely appointed.  It just makes me realize how good God is, and I have such sense of His hand at work both in me and through me.
